The Forbes High School Wellness Hub was recognised on Saturday 7 July with coverage on the ABC Weekend Breakfast program, as becoming a leader in providing holistic and accessible support for our students. Deputy Principal Jason Nottingham was interviewed during the segment in relation to the success and benefits to education the Wellness Hub provides. The Wellness Hub was also recently acknowledged on the 21 June at the Western NSW Local Health District Safety & Quality Innovation Awards. In partnership with NSW Health, the Hub was awarded The Spotless ‘Keeping People Healthy' accolade.

The Wellness Hub was opened in 2016 in cooperation with our community partners to provide a safe place for students and their parents/carers to receive assistance with a wide range of supports that facilitate positive mental and physical wellbeing. We provided our community partners with six onsite offices to provide free private and confidential services to our students and their parents/carers who may have a wide range of issues; from everyday topics such as family, friends and school or simply feeling ‘down' to more serious issues that may include bullying, nutritional health, mental health, homelessness, smoking, alcohol and other drug use.

This innovative approach to wellbeing is making a difference for our young people in Forbes.
