Meals on Wheels is a school initiative run by the Forbes High School Youth Worker and is designed to allow students in Year 8 to take part as volunteers. Meals are picked up from the HACC centre and delivered on two occasions every four to five weeks. It encourages students to think about others, work as a team and look out for each other. It also builds confidence and responsibility.
There are many student volunteers so each student will participate in a meals on wheels run at least once a term. This initiative has been running for several years now to continue to provide a vital service and meet the needs of the Forbes community.
